A Centaur’s Life is a slice of life comedy manga by Kei Murayama that was later adapted to an anime. Kimihara Himeno lives in a world in which humans have evolved into mythical beings. The series follows Hime a centaur, who attends high school with other mythical creatures. It follows her daily life with her friends and family as she experiences the ups and downs of being a teenager.
I haven’t done one of these in a good while, so let’s dive into some of the mythical characters you’ll find in the series.
Centaur Folk: Hime and her family
Demon Folk: Nozomi Gokuraku
Satyrs/satyress: Kyouko Naraku
Angel Folk and cat folk: Manami Mitama and her family
Ram and Alicorn Folk: Couple Mitsuyo Akechi and Inukai Michi 💖
Antarticans: Quetzalcoatl Sassassul
A Centaur’s Life is one of those series that you pass through when scrolling through a list of series and think nothing of it. That is your first mistake as it was mine, “well I have nothing else to watch” is what I thought when seeing it on the streaming lists. As I watched the episodes I started to realized just how wrong I was for judging it.
The series is incredibly entertaining to watch, the characters are very well made, and the world is very well thought out. You can tell that the creator put in a lot of thought into the fantasy world they created. Another detail that I enjoyed is that they included a lesbian relationship in the series, and they’re so cute together! The anime is so enjoyable, a must watch, and I’m very sad that they don’t have more episodes than just 12.
