Tegami Bachi is written and illustratd by Hiroyuki Asada, published by Viz Media. The series can be classified as a Action, Adventure, Martial Arts, and Science Fiction Fantasy story. Tegami Bachi has 20 volumes and an Anime with 25 episodes.

Amberground is a world consumed by darkness with the only glimmer of light being a man made star. Giant Insect monsters with metal exoskeletons lurk in the darkness making traveling between towns extremely dangerous. The Letter Bees risk their lives to make deliveries and keep everyone connected despite this.

The series takes off with one of the Letter Bees named “Gauche” whose on his last delivery before getting promoted. Gauche travels to the darkest area of Amberground “Yodaka” the outskirts. The package he must delivery turns out to be a young boy “Lag Seeing”. Gauche is to transport Lag to his aunt, after being orphaned due to his mother being abducted. The road to their destination proves to be a dangerous one.

After being left with admiration for Gauche, Lag sets out to follow in his foot steps in becoming a Letter Bee. As he sets off on his journey he finds out that Gauche has gone missing. Lag sets off to search for Gouche, makes new friends, fights dangerous beasts, and battles an evil organization.

Let me start by saying that Tegami Bachi has the most stunning art, I really enjoy the colors that they use on each cover. I mean look at the art I posted above this, STUNNING.  That is the first thing that caught my attention on the shelf, it was surrounded by many different titles but the colors and art drew me to it and I couldn’t be happier for it. I was hooked with the first volume, it was jam packed with action and adventure. The story is easy to keep up with and entertaining to boot.

So far I have 3 volumes of the series and I am ready to get my hands on more! I have yet to see the anime, but from the looks of the images, I much rather prefer the art from the Manga. I definitely recommend this to the people who are drawn to beautiful art and love action/adventure manga.
